Patriots Day Greetin

Patriot’s Day Greeting
By Peter A. Todd 4/10/02

At this time we reflect upon memories past
Of loved ones ascended to Heaven above
Bringing to our eyes hidden tears cast
From the fond memory of those they loved
But’ Like the tears the rain must fall
That the flowers will begin to grow
Above earth’s clouds is viewed rainbow tall
With its colors fresh upon the sunlight’s glow
A day to remember the many women and men
Who fought and sacrificed to keep us free
A time to seek out old friends
To salute with pride those soldiers who died for liberty
As the day is darkened and the Sun sets west
May we take heed to a timeless dream
That for every woman and man we’ll do our best
To end the echo’s of terror and its deathly screams
